Our Puppies are raised in our home using the Avidog method, which means they undergo intensive socialization to meet the requirements of an avidog breeder. Before they go to their new homes they will meet a minimum of 50 different people with the goal of 100 people, other dog breeds and cats. Starting on day 3 they begin their early scent training and the US Army's early neurological stimulation training. Each day the puppies are offered a different scent and placed in a variety of different positions i.e. belly up, belly down, head up, head down and touching each and every foot. This early training continues for the first 16 days of life. The early neurological stimulation has been shown to improve cardiovascular performance, strengthen heartbeats, strengthen adrenal glands, increase stress tolerance and increase resistance to disease. In tests of learning, stimulated pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than their non-stimulated litter mates and they were dominant in competitive situations. Additionally, neurostimulated puppies demonstrated increased calmness, decreased errors and reduced distress signals when stressed. Beyond the early training, puppies have their toe nails trimmed every 3 days so that they are used to being handled and don’t hate nail trims! They start potty training at 3 weeks of age using a litter box, which makes them easier to potty train as they get older. Puppies will start crate training, car ride training and leash training before they go to their new homes.
A Sunera puppy, include the following health guarantees:
(1) Puppies will be vaccinated based on the Dam’s nomograph (A blood titer to help determine when maternal antibodies begin to wane.) This helps reduce over vaccination and reduces the likelihood that the maternal antibodies will interfere with vaccination.
(2) Puppies will be dewormed and a negative fecal prior to their placement into their new home.
(3) Puppies will be microchipped and registered to their new owner following purchase.
(4) Puppies will be DNA tested with UC Davis for registry with the ISWS and the UKC.
(5) Each puppy comes with a written health guarantee
Both Parents have had prerequisite health testing performed prior to breeding. This includes their eyes, hearts and thyroids.
If you have interest in one of our puppies, please scroll to the bottom of this page. There is a link for an online application available now. Please note, that if I do not have available puppies, I won’t review applications. Please note that completing the application does not guarantee that you will have a puppy. I thoroughly screen future homes and place puppies that will match their family best based on a variety of factors including; their temperaments, their drive, and the overall goals a prospective puppy owner has for their future puppy. This also means, that I do not place puppies purely for their color. Also, I review applications only when I have a litter on the ground. This is so I know what I will likely have available to offer potential owners.
I am not currently accepting applications at this time for puppies.
